3D Map Of Human Brain

3D Map Of Human Brain
3D Map Of Human Brain

Human brain consist of folds and creases so it is very complex to understand its each and every section. A new three-dimensional map called “BigBrain”.This 3d desighn show  how all parts are interacted.Neurons are sketched so as it is clearly visible.
Slicing a brain exposes only two dimensions. To make the new map, Katrin Amunts of the Jülich Research Centre in Germany and her co workers implanted a 65-year old woman's brain in wax, cut it into more than 7400 sections. Each sections is 20 micrometers thick  one-fifth of the width of a human hair.He made digital images of the slices with  a resolution of 20 micrometers  1000 hours were required  on a supercomputer to draw 3d map of brain as it was not easy task. Due to high resolution, the computer was able to determine the 3D shape of each fold correctly, even if the slice had been cut at an angle. The model's resolution is 50 times higher than that of previous map. 3d image is very helpful for doctors and neurologist as due to its clear cut view, abnormalities and disease can easily found.
